Katie McKay, MSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who holds specialty training in the treatment of trauma, eating disorders, and maternal mental health issues. Katie is Brainspotting and EMDR trained, and utilizes an attachment based approach in her therapy practice. Katie has well-rounded experience with a variety of disorders across a variety of settings. Katie has a history of working with both youth and adults across the life span, both with and without special needs. Katie comes with experience gained from her work done in community mental health, county mental health, forensic social work, school social work, private practice settings, healthcare settings, and trauma/crisis agencies.
Katie provides individual and family therapy and has treated adults aged 18 and up. She is able to deliver quality clinical services in Spanish. Katie currently serves in a full-time role as the Director of Behavioral Health for a nonprofit in Orange County where she provides leadership via clinical oversight, clinical supervision and manages day-to-day operations and staff of her department.
Katie obtained a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Mount St. Mary's University in December 2010. She worked as a case manager and coordinator for a domestic violence and sexual assault crisis agency in Los Angeles, CA for two years prior to starting her MSW program at CSULA in September 2012. She graduated in June 2014 and was a CalSWEC II Mental Health Stipend Awardee.
Katie has been licensed for five years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has nine years of clinical experience. She joined the Weekend Therapy team in October 2023.
