John A. Bennett (he/him)
Practice Manager
Hi, I'm John – Your friendly neighborhood admin guy (with a side of dad jokes).
I bring over 17 years of management experience to Weekend Therapy, which is impressive since I don’t look a day over 25! I started my career in the fast-paced world of finance, where I climbed the corporate ladder one financial report at a time and eventually became an Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager. Basically, I wore a lot of suits, signed a lot of papers, and pretended to understand the printer jam error messages.
In 2022, I swapped the corporate grind for something that felt more meaningful. I joined a nationwide nonprofit as an administrator so I could use my powers (mostly patience and charm) for good. Turns out, making a difference feels even better than balancing budgets—although I still secretly enjoy figuring out how to buy enough food for everyone while honoring those pesky restrictions on how much I can spend.
Volunteering has always been a big part of my life. I’ve done everything from collecting food and tutoring students to fundraising for displaced LGBTQ+ youth and painting houses with Habitat for Humanity. I've cleaned up beaches, handed out backpacks, visited nursing homes—you name it. I guess you could say I like to help out… or I just have a hard time saying no when someone needs a hand. Either way, it keeps life interesting!
I was born in Manila, Philippines, raised in Reno, Nevada, and have lived all over the U.S.—Florida, Maryland, D.C., Virginia, California. So, if you ever need tips on how to pack your life into a car or where to find the best roadside lunch spots, I’ve got you covered.
At Weekend Therapy, I handle all things admin—billing, scheduling, payroll, insurance pre-authorizations, and keeping the ship sailing smoothly behind the scenes. I joined part-time in 2024, and full-time in 2025. Oh, and making bad puns. It's my interest... get it? Finance joke.
Happy to be here—and even happier if there’s coffee and donuts.
