Dan Kraning, PsyD (he/him)
Psychological Associate
Hi, I'm Dan – and I'm here to help you navigate life's ups and downs.
As a psychological associate, I work with people who are facing all kinds of challenges—grief, anxiety, stress, major life changes, or just feeling overwhelmed and unsure of the next step. During my internship in Hospice Care, I had the honor of supporting individuals and families through incredibly tough moments, including trauma, loss, and end-of-life transitions. That experience deeply shaped the way I approach therapy—with empathy, presence, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology from California Southern University and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. My therapeutic approach blends Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Existential Therapy. With CBT, I help you identify unhelpful thoughts and patterns, and we work together to shift them in a more positive direction. And if you’re someone who enjoys exploring the deeper questions—like purpose, meaning, passion, and identity—Existential Therapy is also an option we can explore together.
I’m especially passionate about supporting folks who are working through spiritual concerns or are part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I truly welcome clients from all walks of life. My experience has taught me that no two people are the same, and I take pride in offering personalized, thoughtful care that meets you where you are.
If you're looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk things through, I’m here—and I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you move forward.
Dan joined Weekend Therapy in October 2023 where he functions as a Psychological Associate under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas K. Bennett.
